Spring - EQUIPMENT

Spring: Mandatory Equipment per Participant

 

·  Waterproof Jacket or equivalent - e.g. Buffalo (a jacket with an integral hood is recommended)

·  Waterproof trousers

·  Full leg cover (1/2 or 3/4 length tights do not qualify)

·  Jersey or equivalent specialised wear

·  Second jersey, technical tee or thermal top (one of these tops MUST be long sleeved)

·  Insulating headgear. (Buffwear is acceptable)

·  Gloves

·  Helmet - Cycling ANSI, BSI, Snell (not climbing or canoeing)

·  Rucksack or equivalent carrier (panniers and/or trailers are acceptable)

·  Pedal cycle in good working order

·  Whistle

·  Compass

·  Torch (headtorch with spare batteries recommended)

·  Food for 30 hours

·  Emergency Rations

·  Biro, waterproof pen or pencil

·  Survival bag or bivi bag (foil blanket alone is NOT acceptable)

·  First Aid Kit (MUST include large wound dressing and bandage)

·  Mobile phone for an emergency phone call

·  Sleeping Bag (a Blizzard Bag is acceptable)

 

Spring: Mandatory Equipment per Team and Solo Class rider

 

·  Tool kit and puncture repair kit

·  Map (one is included in the entry fee)

·  Tent (a hooped bivi-bag is allowable)

·  Cooking equipment and pan (this must still be operable at the finish)

 

Spring: Other Useful Personal Equipment - non Mandatory

 

Spare gloves

Spare socks

Cycling glasses

Cycling shorts

Vaseline

Waterproof rucksack liner

Bike bottles and/or hydration bladder

LED rear light

 

Poly bags for feet overnight (or during day!)

Sleeping mat

Ear plugs for overnight

Water purification tablets or equivalent

Pain killers and/or anti inflammatories

Stove foil windbreak

 

Some participants find GPS useful and fun
