The Polaris Challenge is a fun event in a serious environment, run by enthusiasts and volunteers. If everyone sticks to the Rules it will continue to run as happily as it has over the years. The Rules are there to make for a fair competition and as we cannot monitor every inch of the event area, we do rely on your integrity and attention to detail in this regard. We ask that if any participant sees anyone apparently cheating, to challenge them clearly and politely, and conversely that anyone challenged gives mature and polite answers - and solutions to their predicament. You might be able to backtrack, or agree that you have made navigational errors or not seen key information on the map. This could apply to both parties. There is very little evidence of cheating in the Polaris Challenge, but when it happens it can be very annoying for those involved, and difficult for the Event Director to take direct action unless exact details, including names are known. A heavy points penalty will result. Keep it fair out there.
