RULES & CONDITIONS - SPRING / AUTUMN
Equipment - each team member must carry the following ;
  • Torch
  • Whistle
  • Compass
  • Sleeping Bag (a foil Blizzard Bag is acceptable)
  • Emergency Rations (only to be used in an emergency)
  • Biro or waterproof pen
  • Survival bag or bivi bag (foil blanket is not acceptable)
  • First Aid Kit (must include large wound dressing and bandage)
  • 50p coin or mobile phone for an emergency phone call
  • Pedal cycle (tandems are allowed) in good working order
  • Waterproof Jacket (a jacket with an integral hood is strongly advised)
  • Waterproof trousers
  • Full leg cover
  • Shirt, vest, jersey or equivalent specialised wear (long sleeved)
  • Helmet - Cycling ANSI, BSI, Snell (not climbing or canoeing)
Team Gear - each team must carry the following ;
  • Tent for two or one if solo competitor (hooped bivi bags are allowed)
  • Food and drink for the duration of the event
  • Stove and cooking equipment, which must be working at the finish
  • Tool kit and puncture repair kit
  • Map (one is included in the entry fee)
  • For Autumn 2006 event - mobile phone will become mandatory
EXTRA SURVIVAL SAFETY KIT - Not mandatory
  • Warm layer e.g. fleece or duvet jacket
  • Hat and gloves
  • Rucksack or panniers to hold all the kit (with waterproof liner)
  • Puritabs (water quality cannot be guaranteed at the overnight camp)
  • Plenty of battery power for your torch
  • Plastic bags to put over your dry socks at overnight camp
  • Matches or a lighter for your stove
  • Mug
  • GPS is allowed
